i love the internet

so i got some glue on my new(ish) laminate flooring. not just any glue … baaaad glue. the stuff that doesn’t come off when you wash it. even when you yell at it (when the little one’s not around, o’ course).

it’s not in the most highly visible spot on the floor, but it’s there, and i know it. and every time i walk past it, i growl. so i finally got the bright idea to use this newfangled thing called the internet and sniff out some info on getting rid of glue.

whaddya know, i’m not the only guy to goof up with glue. and it’s not that hard to get rid of, apparently:

1. get some acetone, like nail polish remover (preferably unscented/clear) or it can be purchased at hardware stores.

2. place a drop or two of acetone on the super glue spot, let sit for a few seconds.

3. wipe off floor with a paper towel.

4. lather, rinse, and repeat as needed.

warning » it is best to try this on any extra pieces of flooring or on a hidden spot of the floor. this way you know what might happen before you try this method on an area that may be easily seen.

[see post title]

disclaimer » i haven’t tried it yet.
